The ableSling is the world’s first, in-situ sling that also has a seating element combined. The ableSling has been designed to enhance day-to-day living for children, particularly for those with neuromuscular conditions who are unable to transfer themselves to and from a wheelchair unaided. Whether it’s getting to and from the bed, to simply being an in-situ sling for repositioning throughout the day, to being a transfer solution when out in the community when hoists are not available, the versatility of the ableSling is what makes it so unique. It is also perfect for emergency use due to its ease of use. It is fantastic for children who want to take part in sport and other activities. A child using an ableSling will be able to join in with their peers during school trips, out of school activities such as cubs and brownies, beach trips and anything else that the child takes an interest in. Travelling with a child in a wheelchair will become so much more comfortable, safe, dignified and convenient when using the ableSling. The seating element of our product ensures that when children are out of their wheelchair, pressure relief and support can be maintained with the ability to insert an existing wheelchair cushion inside the ableSling, a foam cushion, gel pad or even wedges – ensuring safety, dignity and comfort at all times.
