After 1.5 years of planning behind the scenes, I can finally share a secret I’ve been keeping close to my chest… I’ve written a children’s book!

It’s called ‘Put Can’t in Your Pocket and Pull Out Try” – and it’s a true story with a simple yet powerful message that means a lot to me: never let “can’t” stop you from trying.

The book is dedicated to Anne Wintersgill, and has been created in collaboration with the brilliant Alex Winstanley and the Happy Smiles Training team, who’ve helped bring the words and illustrations to life.

Why this book?

As many of you know, my journey as a disabled person, an athlete, and an entrepreneur hasn’t always been easy. But I’ve always believed that with the right mindset, encouragement, and a bit of stubborn determination, we can all achieve more than we think. That’s the spirit of this book – something I hope children (and their families) will carry with them long after they’ve read it.

Book Launch – You’re Invited!

We’re officially launching the book on Tuesday 14th October 2025, 11am–1:30pm at Niche Café in Wells. If you’re in the South West (or just fancy a trip), I’d love you to pop by, enjoy a coffee and cake, meet me and Nan, and grab yourself a signed copy of the book. The café is welcoming, and a Changing Places toilet in the Market Square right opposite.

See you there!
Josh
